Method 1: Re-check Your License
The first thing you need to check here is the license type. If you are entering the wrong license, then you may not be able to use the Microsoft Office tools properly. To use the office tools normally, you have to re-check the license type.
Follow the given steps to check your Microsoft Office 365 License.
Step 1:
Visit the official portal of Microsoft Office 365. The following link will redirect you to the official portal.
Visit Microsoft Office 365: http://portal.office.com
Step 2:
From the main portal page, click the Settings option from the menu and then select the Office 365 option.
Step 3:
From the left sidebar, select Subscriptions option. This will let you check the license type and other details of your subscription plan.
Step 4:
Locate the Licenses section from the right side of the Window and select the latest desktop version of Office 365 from there.
If the license window doesn’t show up the right license number, then you have to ask about the same to your license provider.
Method 2: Remove Corrupted Files
Step 1:
Make sure that your system is connected to the Internet.
Step 2:
Click the Apps option from the main menu and select Sign Out option. This will sign out from the Microsoft Office Applications.
Step 3:
No, go to the Library Folder and select Group Containers option.
Step 4:
From the Library Folder, select the below given folders if present.
- UBF8T346G9.ms
- UBF8T346G9.Office
- UBF8T346G9.OfficeOsfWebHost
Step 5:
Drag these folders to Trash folder. This action will delete all these unwanted folders from your system.
Step 6:
Sign in back to your MS Office Applications and start using the apps normally.
Method 3: Fresh Install of Microsoft Office 365
If the problem or the issue persists, then there must be some issues with the software itself. To resolve this issue with the right license, you need to reinstall the Microsoft Office 365 software back to your system.
To do so, you have to uninstall the existing Microsoft Office 365 software from your system. The following steps will show you how to uninstall and reinstall this software on your computer system.
Step 1:
Open Applications folder from the Dock. You can also open this folder from the Finder window.
Step 2:
From the Applications Window, select Microsoft Office Tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook etc.
Step 3:
Right-click on the Selected file, a new menu will be opened. From the given menu, select Move to Trash option. Or you can simply drag the selected files directly to the Trash folder.

This will remove all the tools of Microsoft Office 365 from your Mac system.
Now, you have to re-install these applications back from the official AppStore. And then re-activate them using the purchased license.
Method 4: Activate Microsoft Office 365
Step 1:
Visit the official portal of Microsoft Office to use their tools online from your Mac system. You can also get the fresh versions of these tools for your system that you can install as per your needs.
Step 2:
Click Activate Office button to begin installing the new applications of Microsoft Office 365 back to your Mac.
Step 3:
While activating the Office tools, you will be asked to enter the License Key that you have purchased from the official Microsoft Store.

Enter the Key and press the Ok button to activate your Microsoft Office 365.
